One of the big decisions that need to be made once you have decided to sell your home is how are you going to get your possessions from your current home to your new one once sold.
Lots of clients ask about the moving process including who we use, how much it costs, how long it takes and most importantly, who will take care of my things. These things vary depending on whether you are moving locally, interstate or overseas.
There are many ways of cutting costs when moving homes, but as we move furniture every week I cannot more strongly recommend that corners are NOT cut when it comes time to move your furniture.
Why?
Well there are a host of reasons. Cutting corners on paying good removalists means you are most likely going to get damaged corners on something else. Perhaps it is the house you are moving out of, the house you are moving in to, that wonderful piece of cherished furniture or worse still, you.
Removalists know how furniture fits, they deal with it everyday. Getting things through doorways is what these guys do.
The time these guys can move furniture in will amaze you too. What would take you and a few friends hours upon hours can be done in half the time with assistance from removalists. It also frees you up to continue packing/unpacking making the whole process far more seamless.
In hiring professionals, you also get a truck, trolley, blankets and sound knowledge of how to safely and efficiently pack a truck to maximise each and every trip from your home. It’s amazing to watch these guys pack every cubic metre of truck space to get a whole houselot into a 20 foot container.
So when it comes to moving house, don’t cut corners, enlist the help of professionals.
There are many different suppliers out there, so shop around. Some hourly rates include 3 men, some 2. Check that you are getting insurance of your items, this could be important down the track if anything goes wrong.
